China vs Phillipines

China warned its citizens against travel to the Philippines on
Friday, and Chinese tour groups halted visits to the South East Asian neighbour. According to the Chinese Ministry Website, Chinese Spokesman Hong Lei said that “The Philippines encourages citizens at home or abroad to launch anti-China protests. Such behavior attracts intense responses and attention to Chinese people at home and abroad. We hope the Philippines will not further damage our relations.'

So what's the cause of this mistrust?

According to this report, it started last month when thPhilippine Navy tried to detain Chinese fishermen in disputed waters.

The tensions come as China started a deep sea drilling operation in waters off the Paracel Islands on Thursday, which are also claimed by the Philippines.
So it's a territorial thing...
The fishing boat incident on April 10 occurred in the sea around a triangular collection of small reefs, rocks, and islands about 150 miles off the Philippine coast and more than 500 miles from mainland China.
Known to international mariners as the Scarborough Shoal, China (Beijing) calls the 58-square-mile outcropping Huangyan Island, while Philippines (Manila) calls it Panatag. Both Government have refused to back down from their claim on sovereignty.
Who is Right or Wrong???

I think this calls for diplomacy and maturity, as Yitzhak Rabin says- A diplomatic peace is not yet the real peace. It is an essential step in the peace process leading towards a real peace.

This is important so that it doesn't go out of hand. I don't want people suffering unnecesarily..

What do you think???

Have an awesome day...

Thanks for reading :))
