WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?

Hello :)
How are you doing?

Remember the long meeting I talked about in the post: 'Management Lessons'. Well, during the meeting, my boss talked about a book that piqued my interest, it's called 'Who moved my cheese?'.

Being a bookie, I decided to search for it. I just finished reading it and it's one of my best reads this year. You have to read it.

Or

Click (Who moved my cheese) for a video on the book.

Have you watched it? Who do you think best represents YOU- Haw, Hem, Scurry or Sniff?

Sniff was a mice and he 'Sniffs' the environment for food or changes.
Scurry, also a mice is always scurrying. He goes into action and runs after what has been sniffed and is quick to go after a change.

Haw and Hem are intelligent little beings but differ in their ability to accept change. Haw is more open minded towards change. He laughs at his mistakes and pushes himself to succeed despite the changing times, even enjoying newer cheeses with different flavors while Hem loves his comfort. Change is a bad thing for him and when it comes down to it, rather than move or probably try out a new cheese, he complains and says 'Who moved my cheese'?

Has your cheese been moved? Are you still stuck on your cheese and afraid to move on? ('Cheese' = what you want at work or in your personal life or relationships, or behavior).

Are you ready to run through the maze? Are you scared of the maze like Hem? or are you still furious that your cheese has been moved? (Maze = the environment, people, etc or where you look for your cheese)

Here are a few things I learnt from the book:
1. Smell your cheese often so you know when it's getting old: Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger ones to come.
2. When you stop being afraid, you feel good.

3. If you do not change you become extinct.
4. When you change what you believe, you change what you do. Old beliefs do not lead you to new cheese.
5. It is safer to search in the maze than remain in a cheese-less situation.

My mom always says 'Change is the only constant thing in Nature'. Life, economy, behaviors, etc would always change. Your cheese would be moved. But, rather than stay stuck in your comfort zone and whine like Hem, are you willing to enjoy change?

Learn to let go of circumstances. Laugh at yourself and change what you are doing. It helps. Life goes on. You have to go on with it.

(SNIFF out the changes in your life, SCURRY into action, HAW at it no matter how scared you are rather than get HEMMED in and be left behind)

This book by Dr. Spencer Johnson is definitely one of my favorite things. Can't wait to have it in my library.

Have an amazing weekend.

IT's MAZE TIME :)

Thanks a lot for reading. Hugs!!!!
