A whole lot wiser :)

Hola Les Amis,

My favourite book in the whole universe is the BIBLE.....

Thankful God gave us that....

I just grew wiser reading Romans 12, and I thought I'd share it with you....

Place Your Life Before God

1-2 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

I’m speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities in relation to you. Living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace, it’s important that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.

4-6 In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn’t amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.

6-8 If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don’t take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate; if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.
9-10 Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.

11-13 Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.

14-16 Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy; share tears when they’re down. Get along with each other; don’t be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody.

17-19 Don’t hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you’ve got it in you, get along with everybody. Don’t insist on getting even; that’s not for you to do. “I’ll do the judging,” says God. “I’ll take care of it.”

20-21 Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he’s thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness. Don’t let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good.
- The Message.

Aren't you amazed by how much we learn from God daily?

Big Hugs :)

SILVER OR DUNG?

Hellooooooooooooooooo :))
How's your weekend so far?

Just want to share an amazing verse with you. I read it this morning during my beautiful 'moments with God time'.... :))

'The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; The heart of the wicked is worth:' Proverbs 10:20

After much thoughts, I figured that our words has a lot to say about us. It's either silvery or as worthless as a dung. Right?

SO, what does your words/ thoughts say about you?

I really love this quote by Audrey Hepburn 'For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Let your words speak life, warmth and positivity. Let every sentence honour God and others.

Don't hurt others with your words. Its fowl and sometimes it kills, maybe not physically but emotionally (sort of like the walking dead).

Have an amazing day...
Stay Positive. Speak kind words.

Hugs :))

Thanks a billion for reading.

what do people see?

Picture David when he was a shepherd boy. Many who knew him in his pre- Goliath days would very likely have seen just an ordinary youth — one who lived at home with his parents and siblings, enjoyed the outdoors and loved music. But where others saw a typical teenager, God saw a king in young David. He saw David’s name being uttered in honor forever for even the Lord Jesus is called the Son of David!

Picture Moses after he had settled down comfortably in the desert with a beautiful wife, lovely children and good in-laws. He might have seen himself happily retiring in the near future. But God had bigger plans for him. God had big dreams for him. God saw the Red Sea opening up before him and an entire Egyptian army being wiped out in his presence. God saw in Moses the deliverer of His people.

Now, step back a little less far in time with me. See a little boy standing alone during playtime. Nobody wants him on their team because he is scrawny and seen as a weakling. As he grows into his teens, he suffers from an inferiority complex. He stammers and stutters so much that all his classmates laugh at him.

But today, he is the senior pastor of New Creation Church. Each week, he stands in front of a crowd of more than 24,000 people to preach. And he receives invitations to speak in churches and pastors’ conferences worldwide. In those early years, there was no way I could have ever conceived in my mind what God saw in me and the dreams that He had for me.

Beloved, God does not see as man sees. God saw in fearful Gideon a mighty man of valor and called him so even when he was hiding from his enemies in fear. God saw in young David a king and anointed him as one. God saw in meek Moses a deliverer and drew him out from obscurity.

Today, God looks beyond what man sees and says about you, and He has dreams for you that are bigger than you can imagine!

Source - Youversion

Helloooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved reading today's devotional on youversion. It's nice to know that where people  see a crazy girl, or a stupid boy, God sees His Child or a lovable person. God's love for us is indescribable....
Where people see a handsome guy and a pretty girl, God sees past the façade and knows what we are like...on the inside....

What's your heart like?

Just encouraging us to trust HIM everyday and to love being HIS own :)

THE WAY OF LOVE :)

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
This Song makes me drunk For King and Country- Baby Boy :)
How are you doing today?
Been having a little writers block :( Couldn't figure out what to blog about today and after much thoughts and goofing around and talking to GOD, I finally figured it out.......It's about the greatest attribute of all time......LOVE!!!!
It's one of the most important, yet, most difficult attribute to abide by....
It's beautiful yet hated.....
It's kinda hard to live by, not because we are selfish or anything but WE have to come first sometimes right?....It's 'ME FIRST' then others follow....

For some reasons, I stumbled on 'for KINGS AND COUNTRY' (heartbroken that BARLOW GIRL wont be singing any more :( Why do all good things come to an end? ) and I'm hooked with their music...They are slowly becoming  a cancer...I love them.....Ok back to our topic....Was listening to one of the songs by 'for KING and COUNTRY'and they quoted this verse from the bible and its' TRUTH!!!

The Way of Love

"13 If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate.
If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.
3-7 If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end."

- 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 (the message)

Realistically, Can you apply the words in your lives- Like looking for the best in people and not judging or hating them right away....or loving others that you don't hurt them or loving so hard that you forgive?

True Love helps keeps a relationship, like they say "You don’t love a woman because she is beautiful, but she is beautiful because you love her."

The greatest example of love was shown by God and His son, Jesus. Each day we have is an opportunity for them to love us. I also love and Respect the teachers who died for their students in Newton, they proved that one human being can truly love another the way God loved us. Also, I respect the moms and dads and friends and families and volunteers who work tirelessly and show love in more than one way.

Love!!!! It's hard showing it sometimes. But what I do, is tell God how hard it is and beg HIM for strength and Grace to practice true love when dealing with others especially in little things....

Nothing makes sense without love. Preach love today, spread its message, practice it and watch the world become a better place to live in....

Love IS

Hi,
How are you doing?
Grateful to be alive and can’t get over this song by anthem lights: Can’t get over you

One of my favourite scripture from the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13 where God defines what true love is…He didn't mince words. He just stated it for us and here it is…
‘Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not envy. It does not boast.
It is not proud.
It does not dishonour others.
It is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered and it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
Love never fails.
….And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (The Bible)’
Loving others and ourselves is really one of the best ways to live. Like, they say, ‘if everyone practised true love, then the world will be at peace’…There will be no need for wars anywhere and 'word' battles too. There will be no squabbling’s among families, neighbors and workmates. There will be no divorces as well. There will be no jealousy and the need to harm another being. We would get past hurts, say sorry and cherish the peace of another. Revenge would be a thing of the past. Humility would be our watch word.

If only everyone practised all of these facets of love stated in the Bible, then the world would be a better place. Don’t you think?

Everyone includes you and me, so let’s start today in practising God’s ‘true love’... Let’s start one day at a time…One step at a time…It’s contagious and it can spread...

I'm super excited to start. What of you?

Have a splendid day…

Thanks a billion for reading…

BE CONTENT

I love looking at this picture because it is not only funny; it teaches me the importance of being content with life.

My friend Sade lost love because she wanted to ‘be among’ the classy girls in school. She was trapped by the rave of the N100, 000.00 Brazilian hair, when her annual ‘pocket money’ was N20, 000.00. She did a lot of ‘bad’ things to get a black berry. Back then, it was all clothes and no brain. She is still suffering from the repercussion of life lived then. She lost a lot of important relationships.

9 years ago, Tony was my neighbor in the hood. He believed ‘yahoo yahoo’ was the best way to make sharp money and he did that. He rode a car finally, impressed the girls and lived in clubs. For a while, he was everyone's best friend. He was their Santa Claus. But, just like a lightning bolt, the money disappeared as fast it came. He still tries his luck at scamming but people are wiser. I pray he doesn’t go the extra mile by engaging in ritual killing just to make money. I pray he learns from his lesson, finds good work and be content and grateful for what he has.

My uncle works late hours. He believes that an extra hour past closing time is worth it. Definitely, it means more pay. He believes purchasing the new 3D TV will make his home fun. He is working really hard but at the expense of his relationship with his wife and kids? Sometimes, I fear for his health too.

Sometimes, life takes us to several paths. We get carried away by the baits thrown at us by the media. Everyone preaches that true success is linked to how big our bank account is. We succumb to peer pressure because we believe in their extravagant lifestyle. New clothes, new shoes, acceptance; that’s topmost on our to-do list. Like a rat, trapped by our hunger and a poisoned cheese, some stake it all and the results are not too pleasing.

I believe in the Bible and I believe God when He says to live a simplified lifestyle. To be content with what we have. God isn’t encouraging laziness. He is not saying ‘oh, settle for what you have now, don't aspire for something great’. He is just saying, don’t stress over things you do not have. He is saying 'don't back stab people or kill people to be rich'. Do not be anxious. Just like HE provides for the birds and flowers, He will provide for you too. He is God. Just be content and be happy. (Matthew 6).

This is tricky. I’m not saying that a ‘poor’ guy should remain poor all his life, I’m just saying that ‘Is he going to do ‘anything’, like, ‘sell his soul to the devil’ for the sake of acquiring world wealth…

Do you think being content is overrated? For me, I don’t think so.

What’s your thought?

Thank you so much…Have a blessed day. Be content and grateful for what you have going for you now. I believe it can only get better.
Hugs...

“Happiness consists not in having much, but in being content with little.”-  Marguerite Gardiner quotes
