'PROMISES'

"Never forget your promises to me, your servant,

for they are my only hope. They give me strength in

all my troubles. How they refresh and revive me."

 Psalms 119:49,50

I read this verse earlier today during my 'Moment

with God' time and honestly I could relate with

King Davids proclamation.

Sometimes, do you feel that God has forgotten his

promises to YOU?

Like David, we might have such thoughts but like I

always remind my 'worrisome' self, 'GOD is not

Man that lies. He was there YESTERDAY, is here

TODAY and will be there TOMORROW. He's so

dependable'.

Have faith. Hope in Him and Wait....knowing that

everything will be OK.

Take care of you. Stand on His promises...Big Hugs

:))

Thanks a lot for reading......

FIRST LOVE

Hello Dear,
How are you?
Though I'm no Maya Angelou, I love poetry as well. I love to attempt writing one. And I decided to write this one (First Love) to honor the One who loved us first.

Ps: He’s also the owner of our unique amazing talents.

Hope you feel the same way I do about Him J

Like they say in my language,  'Jehovah na eme m ihe dinma' (Jehovah is always doing something good for me)

FIRST LOVE by ijeoma U.
I met Him as a new born,
Seeing Him through tiny little eyes and happy mouths.
I felt Him against warm soft blue cloths and sock,
Holding me in arms, Oh so tender.
I smelt him in the rain,
Beneath thick little pink blanket.
I walked with Him on wobbly legs,
encouraging me to move on sturdy floor.
Even when life happened,
and I drifted away from His ever longing friendship,
His still powerful voice whispered quietly,
‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’.
Promises, mere words, I say,
And He replies ‘Have I ever lied to you?’
I remember His will,
The sweet bondage that makes life’s beautiful again.
Every step I take,
Through the storm and rainbow,
Through miracles and disappointments,
As I glide through opened doors,
And scar my head against closed doors,
Through the light and darkness,
Every step I take,
Leads me back to the one,
I saw through tiny little eyes and happy mouths;
I felt through warm soft blue cloths and sock;
He held me in arms Oh so tender.
I smelt him in the murky rain,
Beneath thick little pink blanket.
He walked with me on wobbly legs,
Encouraging me to move on sturdy floor.
As my mind race through these moments of eons ago
To the point where life happened
It leads me to my one true friend whose voice loudly whispers ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’
These moments takes me back to my first true love, God.

 The End.

Take care of you. God loves you like crazy.
Thanks so much for reading…

'Not Gone'

Hello Dear,
How was day?

So earlier today, I got this broadcast message on my BB which made me sad. It said:
"Mr. Lanre Fashesin has not been heard from in the last 3 months after he was kidnapped at a site in Edo State.
The family had up until now made frantic efforts to secure his release to no avail. The Police also claim to have hit a dead end and seem to have become clueless as to how else to find the kidnapped engineer. Mr. Fashesin was working at the site where he was kidnapped as a contractor for Dextron Engineering Limited based in Lagos.
The family today put out a release appealing to members of the public to kindly join in the search for Lanre who recently just got married.
Engr. Lanre Fashesin, referred to by the kidnappers as ‘Larry’, was kidnapped around a Niger Delta PHCN project site in Iguiye village(between Okada & Benin City) 4 months ago. We have not heard anything from him or the kidnappers for about 3 months now.
Lanre is 6 foot 3 inches tall, and speaks Yoruba and English fluently.
Please call 08069439240 if you have any information & spread the word." Click here to see Lanre.
It's so sad. The other day, another message was sent out, calling for everyone to help find a little girl who had been abducted while returning from school.
In some parts of Nigeria, 'kidnapping' is like a trending issue. People are being traded for money or used for ritual :(

I wonder what's going on with our security system?

I can't imagine what Lanre or that little girl's family must be going through now :(

We can only pray that they be found....That they are alright and that they return home to their family soon...

Now, I understand why some parents are extra protective of their kids. My mom always insists that we pray together before I leave for work. No matter how late I am, she always says '2 minutes with God is important'....And we must pray, it's not up for an argument :)

In as much as there are good people around, the crazy ones exists, its like  you are being surrounded by sharks and I know that holding on to God is our best bet against them...

Even though God allows some things to happen, I know He is always with us and I plead with us to lend our voices in praying that Lanre and other kidnapped family members come home (Nothing is too big for God to handle)....

They can't be 'gone'. I'm positive and hopeful that soon, they will find their way home and justice will prevail. They can't be gone. What do you think?

Hope you had a nice day?

Mine was amazing except for the crazy traffic on my way to the market early this morning and the 'Kidnapped- ish' which tried to dampen my day....
I watched Pitch perfect too...Anna kendricks and all the casts are talented..#pitch perfect indeed...You need to watch it....

Enjoy the rest of your weekend...

Thank you so much for reading :)

Love IS

Hi,
How are you doing?
Grateful to be alive and can’t get over this song by anthem lights: Can’t get over you

One of my favourite scripture from the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13 where God defines what true love is…He didn't mince words. He just stated it for us and here it is…
‘Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not envy. It does not boast.
It is not proud.
It does not dishonour others.
It is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered and it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
Love never fails.
….And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (The Bible)’
Loving others and ourselves is really one of the best ways to live. Like, they say, ‘if everyone practised true love, then the world will be at peace’…There will be no need for wars anywhere and 'word' battles too. There will be no squabbling’s among families, neighbors and workmates. There will be no divorces as well. There will be no jealousy and the need to harm another being. We would get past hurts, say sorry and cherish the peace of another. Revenge would be a thing of the past. Humility would be our watch word.

If only everyone practised all of these facets of love stated in the Bible, then the world would be a better place. Don’t you think?

Everyone includes you and me, so let’s start today in practising God’s ‘true love’... Let’s start one day at a time…One step at a time…It’s contagious and it can spread...

I'm super excited to start. What of you?

Have a splendid day…

Thanks a billion for reading…

BE CONTENT

I love looking at this picture because it is not only funny; it teaches me the importance of being content with life.

My friend Sade lost love because she wanted to ‘be among’ the classy girls in school. She was trapped by the rave of the N100, 000.00 Brazilian hair, when her annual ‘pocket money’ was N20, 000.00. She did a lot of ‘bad’ things to get a black berry. Back then, it was all clothes and no brain. She is still suffering from the repercussion of life lived then. She lost a lot of important relationships.

9 years ago, Tony was my neighbor in the hood. He believed ‘yahoo yahoo’ was the best way to make sharp money and he did that. He rode a car finally, impressed the girls and lived in clubs. For a while, he was everyone's best friend. He was their Santa Claus. But, just like a lightning bolt, the money disappeared as fast it came. He still tries his luck at scamming but people are wiser. I pray he doesn’t go the extra mile by engaging in ritual killing just to make money. I pray he learns from his lesson, finds good work and be content and grateful for what he has.

My uncle works late hours. He believes that an extra hour past closing time is worth it. Definitely, it means more pay. He believes purchasing the new 3D TV will make his home fun. He is working really hard but at the expense of his relationship with his wife and kids? Sometimes, I fear for his health too.

Sometimes, life takes us to several paths. We get carried away by the baits thrown at us by the media. Everyone preaches that true success is linked to how big our bank account is. We succumb to peer pressure because we believe in their extravagant lifestyle. New clothes, new shoes, acceptance; that’s topmost on our to-do list. Like a rat, trapped by our hunger and a poisoned cheese, some stake it all and the results are not too pleasing.

I believe in the Bible and I believe God when He says to live a simplified lifestyle. To be content with what we have. God isn’t encouraging laziness. He is not saying ‘oh, settle for what you have now, don't aspire for something great’. He is just saying, don’t stress over things you do not have. He is saying 'don't back stab people or kill people to be rich'. Do not be anxious. Just like HE provides for the birds and flowers, He will provide for you too. He is God. Just be content and be happy. (Matthew 6).

This is tricky. I’m not saying that a ‘poor’ guy should remain poor all his life, I’m just saying that ‘Is he going to do ‘anything’, like, ‘sell his soul to the devil’ for the sake of acquiring world wealth…

Do you think being content is overrated? For me, I don’t think so.

What’s your thought?

Thank you so much…Have a blessed day. Be content and grateful for what you have going for you now. I believe it can only get better.
Hugs...

“Happiness consists not in having much, but in being content with little.”-  Marguerite Gardiner quotes

BEAUTIFUL WORDS (2)

Good Morning Dear,
How was your night? Grateful to see another day.
Can't seem to get this song out of my head but I love it so much...So, it's free to stay :)
You raise me up...

Anyway, I was touched by this beautiful message. Hope you give it a thought.

1. Stay away from Anger...It hurts...Only You! If you are right then there is no need to get angry, And if you are wrong then you don't have any right to get angry.
2. Patience with family is love, Patience with others is respect, Patience with self is confidence and Patience with GOD is faith.
3. Never Think Hard about the PAST, It brings Tears... Don't think more about the FUTURE, It brings Fear...
Live this Moment with a Smile, It brings Cheer.
4. Every test in our life makes us bitter or better, Every problem comes to make us or break us, The choice is ours whether we become victims or victorious.
5. Search for a beautiful heart not a beautiful face. Beautiful things are not always good but good things are always beautiful.
6. Do you know why God created gaps between fingers? So that someone who is special to you comes and fills those gaps by holding your hand forever.
7. Never forget this advice! Happiness keeps You Sweet, Trials keep You Strong, Sorrows keep You Human, Failures keeps You Humble, Success keeps You Glowing, But Only God keeps You Going!

So, what beautiful words would you like to share with me???

Have an awesome day...

Mwahhhh

BEAUTIFUL WORDS

Someone has written these beautiful words. Read and try to understand the deeper meaning of them.
1. Prayer is not a "spare wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, but it is a "steering wheel" that directs the right path throughout life.
2. Why is a car's windshield so large & the rear view mirror so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.
3. Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4. All things in life are temporary. If they are going well, enjoy them, they will not last forever. If they are going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either.
5. Old friends are gold! New friends are diamond! If you get a diamond, don't forget the gold! To hold a diamond, you always need a base of gold!
6. Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, "Relax, sweetheart; it's just a bend, not the end!"
